Personal experience on daily habits
I could remember when I decided to make a habit of going for an exercise daily. At first, its challenging to find time and motivation, but I sticked with it. Over time, this habit starts to shape my lifestyle, I felt healthier, more energized, and even notice improvements in my mood and productivity.
However, one day I get busy and skip the daily exercise. Then I skip another day and for few days, and soon enough, I have fallen out of habit completely. Without the daily exercise, I start feeling less motivated and my mood takes a hit.
I realized how much that simple habit was making a positive impact my life, and i resolve to get back to it, knowing how much it can make or break my well-being
Good daily habits have the power to catapult us into peak physical fitness, create a thriving marriage, or build strong bonds with our children. Bad habits literally have the power to destroy, and even shorten, our lives.
The 5 Daily Habits That Change My Life
Have you ever felt stuck and wanting something different, but didn’t know how to start? I’ve been there. In the busy everyday life, it’s easy to forget what we really want. But I found five simple habits that totally changed everything for me.
Before I talk about these daily habits, imagine this: my days were all the same, and I felt lost. But then, I learned about habits. They’re like the building blocks of our actions and thoughts. So, I decided to make habits that could help me get the life I wanted.
What happened next was amazing. These five habits slowly became part of my daily routine, making me feel happier and more purposeful. They became the most important things in my life, making me feel like I was really living.
I’ll tell you about these five habits and how they changed me. But first, let’s be open to change and ready to try new things. Are you with me? Let’s get started.
Time Blocking
“Time blocking helps to focus on what really matters, so we can use out time wisely and achieve our goals”
Time blocking is a time management strategy where you schedule out every part—and we mean every part—of your day. With time blocking, you’re effectively breaking the work week into bite-sized time slots where you check your email, work on projects, take a break, or even exercise.
Like most time management strategies, time blocking is a way for you to reclaim your day and get a better sense of where your time is actually going. By scheduling blocks of work, you can not only ensure you’re completing your important tasks, but also make sure you’re setting aside time for rest and self-care
A time blocking schedule has allowed me to stay on top of my mental health, self-care, and productivity all at once. I could not be more stoked about it.
I write my tasks into the hourly section of my planner, and use highlighters to mark off how long each one will take me.
Learning how to time block can feel intimidating, but honestly, it’s a really easy process! It may take few weeks to figure out exactly what your routine looks like, but when you do, you will find it very easy.
Setting Priorities
“Your priorities define your path; they illuminate the road ahead and determine the destinations of your journey”
Living a fulfilling life means aligning your daily activities with your priorities. Identify what truly matters to you and ensure your actions reflect those values. This might mean spending more time with family, focusing on your career, or dedicating time to a hobby.
You’ll find greater satisfaction and purpose in your daily life by consciously making decisions that align with your priorities.
When I was lost in a busy life, I felt overwhelmed until I realized I’d forgotten what’s really important. Putting family, health, and personal growth first brought back joy and balance.
Now, living with purpose, I find happiness in aligning what I do with what matters most, knowing true success comes from balancing life’s basics.
Meditation
“Meditation is not just a practice; it’s a lifeline, offering clarity in confusion, peace in turmoil and resilience in adversity”
Meditation has been proven to have a myriad of benefits on your brain and emotional health. Just meditating for 10 minutes a day, either when you wake up, halfway through your day to de-stress, or even right before bed to wind down, helps train your brain to find peace and balance.
The more consistently you meditate, the more you’ll find yourself focusing on the present moment, naturally relieving anxiety, and dealing calmly with high-pressure situations.
Meditation changed my life. Before, stress and worry made me feel all mixed up. But with daily meditation, everything got better. I felt peaceful inside, learned to handle my feelings, and could think clearly.
Now, each day feels easier. I’m calmer and more sure of myself. It’s like having a superpower to deal with whatever comes my way.
Exercise
“Exercise is a way to appreciate your body’s capabilities, not a punishment for what you have eaten”
Consider getting out of your office once a day for a short walk. It’s not only good for your health to move around a bit, but it’s also good for your creative productivity.
The variety of stimuli that you’ll encounter will often jog new insights, and the break from “the grind” will allow your mind to form patterns out of loose connections that are often overlooked in the hustle of your workspace.
Whatever they are, make sure that you have a set of practices to ground you and help you maintain stability in the midst of uncertainty. The infrastructure you build is into your day is what will sustain you when life and work are stretching you beyond your limits.
Regular exercise offers numerous health benefits, both physical and mental. It boosts energy, improves mood, and promotes better sleep.
Incorporate simple exercises into your daily routine, such as a morning walk, a lunchtime yoga session, or an evening workout. Make it enjoyable so that it becomes something you look forward to rather than a chore.
Play
“Play is like adding spice to life, Making every day more fun and memorable”
Discovering the habit of play transformed my life in ways I never imagined. It started with small steps, like taking time to each day to something just for fun.
Whether it was playing a musical instrument, trying new hobby, or simply goofing around with friends, incorporating play into my routine brought a sense of joy and fulfilment that I had been missing.
Trying out the habit of playing change my life a lot, when I started playing more, doing things just for fun, everything got better, I felt happier, less stressed and even my relationships improved.
Playing became something I look forward to everyday. It showed me that life is not just about work and serious stuff, but also about enjoying your self and having fun. So, I’d encourage you to give play a chance. You might be surprised how much it will make your life better.
